Dear Srajib,
If you want to earn money from your website, you have to place ads in your website. If you want to place ads, you have to get sponsors. If you want to get sponsors, you have to make your website popular and have to make sure that your website’s traffic is very high. To do this you have to facilitate your website users any how. Now let you have lot of facilities in your web site for your users. But how they will know about web site? Generally users search using popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN for their service and click on the results they have. Most of them choose first ten links from the searched result. To be visible within first ten links of searchd result, you have to optimize your web site for search engines which is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I think you have gotten your answer.
